ACTIVITIES, EXPERIENCES, AND EMOTIONS

Hi everyone!
I can’t believe almost five months have passed since I arrived in Zamość, Poland; really, time flies, especially when you are having so much fun, and enjoying every single moment.

A lot of things have happened during this EVS project, and all of them are great, believe me.
Summer’s gone, and cold, grey, rainy days are coming; but it’s not a bad thing, as I think I even love more this beautiful country as it still surprise me. As autumn settled in, we’re spending more time with indoors activities, without quitting some outdoors ones like Language Coffee.

We took back the “AntiStress Workshop”, and seeing the girls again, after this summer was amazing. They were so happy and full of energy!

We started to make presentations about our countries (mine is Spain) in different schools. I’m not going to lie, I was a bit worried, as it was going to be my first presentation ever; and talking in public was never one of my strengths. But just with a bit of good attitude and also being myself, I can say that everything went great. Of course, the good attitude of this boys and girls were quite helpful! I still have many presentations ahead, but I know they are going to be perfect.

We also started a new activity called “Tandem of Languages”, and it’s definitely my thing! We speak in couples, so that way we can improve our language. I just love it!

We keep doing activities with our seniors too. And the last time, we showed our presentations to them, and we played some popular songs from our countries, and they loved it! It’s so nice to see our seniors so happy while dancing rumba!

We started from zero a new activity (or project) called “Kino Na Okrąglaku”, in which we played three different movies. One was the funny Italian comedy Benvenuti al Sud, another one was the Spanish thriller La comunidad, and the last was the intense Polish drama Ida. All of them with English and Polish subtitles, and in their original languages. It was a great time to get to know a bit more about different cultures, use our language skills, and yes, spend GREAT times with GREAT people!

We’ve been also going to a hospital, to meet and spend some time with the fantastic people that are there, and there’s no doubt that is one of the best thing that ever happened to me. There’s nothing bigger like when you realize that, with just your presence (and some jokes in polish too hehe), you make them really happy and you can see their beautiful smiles. This totally made my life! J

As time goes by, we also have to say goodbye to some friends that we made here; a few weeks ago, our friends Gergo and Joan finished their projects, and they went back to their countries. Good luck with everything in life, compas! Also our friend Kamila went to Gdańsk to keep their studies; and our chiquitina Klaudia went to Warsaw for the same reason (Buena suerte, peque, aunque no la necesitas hehe). I’ll be eternally happy for meeting you, and our big family will never be torn apart, as we will still remember every member, even when we’re not by each other side.

I knew before coming here, that a lot of things were going to change and I knew that it was the perfect time to change with them. I used to be quite shy. And don’t get me wrong, I’m still shy, and I’m not invulnerable, but it will never be the same. I came to realize that I am stronger than I thought, I'm becoming much more mature, and I’m surrounded by amazing people that can see the good in me. I’m never alone, as I have the best friends that someone could ever imagine, and all of it is just thanks to this EVS project. That’s why I would encourage everyone to do it. It’s a big step in life, but everything is always for your good. Of course, you do a lot of good to other people, and they will always be thankful to you.

I’m sooo happy that I decided for Poland, as their people are so welcoming and nice! Call me weird, but I even like more Polish autumn than Polish summer. It’s true that is colder and sometimes it’s rainy, still it’s beautiful to me! Maybe not always is about the landscapes, but the people!

Dziękuję i do zobaczenia!

Sergio

MY FELLING AT THE MIDDLE/END OF MY PROJECT ........ENJOY ZAMOSC EVERY DAY

Ciao guys !!!!

I can't believe that we are alredy in October but better not to think about this!!!!

Autumn is arrived and I like it, summer was very good and was also sunny, but now is the moment to see autumn/winter in Poland, yes maybe you think I'm a little crazy, but I want and I hope to see some snow or something like that :)

we can say that the cold I do not mind, if I can choose, I prefer to live in the coldest place in the earth and not in the hottest ( when you have cold you can put something and after is good, we you have hot......)

Appart this the activity in association progressing very well and the people are very very nice!!!!

we start to do something activity like tandem of language, it is to make a kind of lesson, two people who speak different llanguage(in my case, italian and polish) are sitting in front, you have more or less one hour and in this hour, I will try to do for half-hour italian or english lesson ( but you need to know that i'm not good in english) and in the other half hour I'll try to learn a bit polish :)
We doing also other different activity we start again to have some workshop with senior, language coffe, we start to going to the hospital for stay with the people here and we make some company,
this month we organized also cinema in association, we show one italian movie, one spanish movie and one polish movie.
The last week I've been working to create a presentation about Italy that after I will go to present to the school, I already start this, this week, I went to the last school and I doing it for the children, I do presentation also in Bursa in Zamosc for the student who live there, guys I no have words to describe how i felt IT WAS REALLY AMAZING AND FUNNY I like to speak with this guys, if after the voice doesn't leave me I'd do it every day.

During this month I have learned a lot and after this activity I understand many things and I also improve my skills :

1- with tandem of language I have had the opportunity to talk and discuss with people who do not speak the some language, speak foreign languages or try to speek I think is good for your mind, because I try to understend and I try also to make me understend.

2-the new activity in hospital is very nice I like it, stay with senior or with people who are in hospital it makes you think, these people always smile and never complain , guys life is beautiful and we must try to live each day at maximum for what we can do. I think this in hospital is one of the best activity because sometimes this people are alone and for me to give him a smile is fantastic.
So with this activity I understand many thinks. Enjoy guys!!!!

3- cinema was really great, I show for the people one movie ( benvenuti al sud) about different and about people from north Italy think about people lives in south Italy, I think it was good show this movie because in a fun way show the cultural differences, also for me was good to see the spanish and polish movie, it was good see this in original language (with subtitles) for try to larn something about new language o to see something about their culture.

4-About presentation, guys was and will amazing, during the lasts week I prepare one presentation about Italy with principla things about our culture, our language and something (I hope..hehe) interesting about my counrty .

Second stage of EVS : Summer Camp!

About my second step, here during my EVS in Zamość.

For me, it has been the perfect time, what I really needed, what I expected of my volunteerism.

In this new “era” of our volunteer activity, we worked with a lot of children. And I say work, because I have to say something. Actually, it was no work at all, for me it was spending time with the greatest people I’ve ever met here in Poland.
They were so restless in a good way. They wanted me to be moving around all the time, playing with them, going together, partnering to the activities we had for them, just everything…

At first I was a bit overwhelmed, I have to say. First day, it was like fifty kids waiting for you to say something, I don’t know, just talk, and it was really difficult by that time, when you barely know them. They were looking at me, also, with a bit of “what should I do now” expression on their faces. It’s understandable, we couldn’t say much, they mostly speak Polish and just a little of English, and I can’t speak Polish at all. But they were so helpful! Although with this obstacle of language, they were making a big effort to try to communicate with me. Also I did, I tried really hard to understand what they were trying to tell me, and most of the times, I could! But all the credit is just for them, these little kids were even doing mime for me to get what they were meaning. And yes, It was hard to communicate, but not impossible.

We spent a lot of great times together, we went to many activities, and I am really glad that they loved everything we did. We visited Arsenał Museum, where children could see many tanks, helicopters, soldier clothing, weapons and everything related to this part of history. We also went to a Chess Museum. They really enjoyed activities like going to the swimming pool, or to playgrounds, and it was there, at this “plac zabaw” where I also enjoyed the most. It was a bit difficult to play with children under 32 degrees in the sun, with uncomfortable clothes (my fault), and places full of sand with uncomfortable shoes (yes, also my fault), but just looking at their faces, you could tell that they wanted me to play too, so every little thing I had against me, just faded. We played “tag”, this game that you have to go chasing the other ones, until you reach them. We also played football and with hula hoops. Board games were also funny.

We visited this stunning town called Zwierzyniec, in Roztocze National Park, and it was the place that I liked the most. It was astonishingly beautiful. Just nature, crowded with trees and forest, and this amazing lake with an island and a church on it. Ok, I was speechless. Kids loved it, although they already knew it, as they are actually living here. But they were pretty amused. Now I know how to say in Polish horse, bear, wolf, deer, and actually every animal that you can find in this place, just because these children wanted me to know their Polish names, and I love that! And talking about animals, we also went to the zoo! We saw a lot of different animals, we laughed a lot, and the best part of it all was ,of course, these kid’s faces, they were so happy J

We went to cinema, and we watched some movies in Polish (nie rozumiem), but I liked it. Children also played in an obstacle course for kids, and we went to many parks in Zamość. One of the most interesting places we went, it was a “słodkie manufaktura”, a workshop were workers make candies and lollipops in front of you, and after, you can make your own lollipop. Of course, children were pretty happy with this activity, and adults like me too hehehe

By the end of the activities of the day, we used to go to the canteen of their school, where we ate with the rest of the teachers/prosze pani, and I also would like to thank them, because they were really helpful too, and of course, fun to spend time with!
At the end, we always came back to Okrąglak, and we spent the rest of our day playing to everything. There was always something new to play with, or something that we just made up. Ok, I always ended up sweating, because fifty children are usually tireless and unstoppable, but I appreciate sooo much this time together! J

It’s been hard to say goodbye to every children that we met here, especially because after two weeks with each group of kids, sharing many things, a lot of great experiences, now I feel way too bonded to these kids. They gave me as gifts a magnet of Poland, a Lewandowsky notebook, balls from Zwierzyniec, and some bracelets, one of them handmade. All of it, related to Poland. I’ll be wearing them J

Well, that’s all for now. Thank you so much for reading!

P.S: I haven’t eaten these lollipops, they’re coming to Spain with me, as another memory of the greatest experience here in Zamość!

Summer Camp in Zamosc!!!!
Children, games and lots of fun !!!!!

Hi guys !!!!!

Yes, the times goes fast, I have already been almost three months since my arrival in Poland,  I spent three fantastic month in Zamosc.
Summer is almost finishing and unfortunately the summer camp with children is ended.
It was a really nice experience working and play with a lot of children,
This summer camp it lasted six weeks, the children was divided in three group ( two weeks for group), for me every time that a group ended the summer camp was very difficult say goodbye because after two weeks begins to become attached and know the kids with you played.
The first day I was a bit confused but at the same time I was happy to know the children, after introducing myself a smile was enough to get children’s confidence,  you know the kids  are so, without bad thoughts, I think we should all remain children for a better world.
The activities we have done with the children have been many,  we went to Arsenal museum, swimming pool, cinema ( of course movie is in Polish and I not understand nothing…),factory of sweet (mmmmh…very good), we went also to national park in Zwierzyniec for me this is the best activity because I love stay in contact with nature and do activities with the kids to the park I think is the best thing.
After lunch in the afternoon every day we walked back to Okroglak and we have more or less two hours only for play with children, it’s really amazing but tiring, children ( is normal and I’m happy for this, I’d be surprised if it were not so) have a lots of energy and they want play and play again.
We doing more or less the same activity with all three groups, every group was different than other group so every time was a different experience.
A thought also goes to the teachers because they have been wonderful, it was a pleasure for me working with you!!!!
It was a really nice experience that helped me to understand many things, I never forget this summer and this children!!!!

See you soon guys and enjoy!!!!!

P.S. sorry for my English !!!!
